Public Records

The City of Gretna will provide copies of any municipal public record in accordance with the statutes of the State of Louisiana laws.

Are certain City records restricted? Yes, certain records and information contained in records are restricted and subject to privacy statutes by State and Federal laws. However, most City records are available for research. All records are used under the supervision of office personnel.

Does the City of Gretna provide Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce or Passport records? No, these records are available through the Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court Office www.jpclerkofcourt.us or (504) 364-2900, located at 200 Derbigny Street, Gretna, LA 70053.

· City Public Record Request. Public records may be requested by completing the City's Public Document Request Form. Those requesting public documents may also request this information through the City's Constituent Request System.

City Public Record Fees. Copying charges for public records are set at $1.00 minimum for the first page and .15 per page thereafter.
