CITY OF GRETNA
For Immediate Release
HURRICANE ZETA UPDATE
Our Public Utilities and Public Works Departments are out at this time beginning to evaluate damages sustained by Hurricane Zeta. There are approximately 6,700 people inside the city of Gretna (70053) without power this evening. We have communicated with Entergy, and they will be out in the city tonight, assessing outages and developing a plan of action on how to begin restoring power.
At this time, our garbage contractor is scheduled to resume normal operations tomorrow morning. Please stay tuned the city’s Facebook page – City of Gretna, and our website – www.GretnaLA.com, for further information and updates throughout the remainder of the week.
Due to power outages, Gretna City Hall will be closed tomorrow. We will be operating remotely and with a limited staff, handling post-storm matters, at our
Emergency Operations Center.
Gretna Mayor’s Court will also not be in session tomorrow, 10/29, due to the City Hall power outage. Court will resume on Monday, November 2, 2020. Anyone scheduled for court on 10/28 or 10/29 should call the Gretna Clerk of Court’s Office at 504-227-7325 on Friday, 10/30 to reschedule.
