Tax & Licensing

Property Tax Assessment

Property values are assessed through the Jefferson Parish Assessor’s Office. Their website, www.jpassessor.com, provides access to property search tools, millage rates, assessment formulas and homestead exemptions. Please note that the City of Gretna does not offer a homestead exemption for property taxes specific to the City’s jurisdiction.

Pay Property Taxes

Property tax payments can be made online, in-person at the automated payment kiosk by the front door of City Hall, or with the cashier during business hours. Non-cash payments can be deposited in the drop box outside of City Hall at 2nd St. and Huey P. Long Ave. or by mail. Online payments can be made by registering and following the instructions at Municipal Online Payments.
