Tourism

The City of Gretna Tourism Office assists visitors to the City, arranges tour groups and helps coordinate special events. The Tourism Office is in the Heritage House Welcome Center at 1035 Huey P. Long Avenue. Welcome Center hours are Tuesday – Friday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

October 7 – 9 –  GRETNA FEST!!! Details coming soon.

October 14 – Back to the River Fall Concert Series.  Free concert at the Riverfront amphitheater for 6 p.m.

October 15 – Citywide Yard Sale on the neutral ground of Huey P Long Ave. from 6th to 8th Street and throughout the
70053 zip code.

October 15 – Pumpkin Patch at the Huey P Long Ave. neutral ground from 6th to 8th street.  Details coming soon.

October 15 – Back to the Drive-in, free movie at the Riverfront amphitheater for dusk.

October 21 – Back to the River Fall Concert Series.  Free concert at the Riverfront amphitheater for 6 p.m.

December 1 – 16 – Passport to Christmas promotion event.  Get your Passport to Gretna for deals and discounts at
participating businesses.  Collect enough stamps to enter for a chance at a gift basket worth over $1000.
Winner pulled during the Farmer’s Market on December 17.

December 2 – 4 – Picnic Under the Lights.  Rent a clear bubble tent up the beautifully lit Oaks on the neutral ground of
Huey P. Long Ave.

December 4 – Tree lighting and Christmas Parade on Huey P Long Ave. near 6th Street

December 9 – 11 – Picnic Under the Lights.  Rent a clear bubble tent up the beautifully lit Oaks on the neutral ground of
Huey P. Long Ave.

December 10 – Shop the Huey Holiday Market at the Gretna Cultural Center, over 50 vendors selling holiday related items
from 9 a.m – 3 p.m.

December 16 – 18 – Picnic Under the Lights.  Rent a clear bubble tent up the beautifully lit Oaks on the neutral ground of

December 18 – Live Nativity on Huey P. Long Ave. near 6th Street.

FEBRUARY 2023
February 1 – Toast to Mardi Gras, choosing of Gretna’s King/Queen

February 2 – GREDI King Cake Social

February 3 – Parade the Huey – Drive thru/walk the city and enjoy the purple green and gold splendor.  Wave to the King
and Queen of Gretna’s Mardi Gras located along Huey P. Long Ave. in the neutral ground.
3-19 – Bubbles on Parade – Held every weekend leading up to Mardi Gras Day.  Rent a clear bubble tent under the
beautifully draped Oaks of purple, green and gold lights.
February 20 – GRELA presents Lundi Gras in Gretna at the Farmer’s Market pavilion.  Free concert with food and beverage
for purchase.

MARCH 2023
March 26 – Italian-Irish Parade rolls in downtown Gretna!

APRIL 2023
April 1 – Shop the Huey Easter Market – holiday and craft market inside and out of the Gretna Cultural Center from 9 a.m. –
3 p.m. with over 50 vendors!

April 8 – Seersucker Soiree – Artist and musicians along the streets of downtown Gretna.  Discounted food and drink with
purchase of a wristband.

April 22 – Food Truck Festival

MAY 2023
May 13 – Maifest – Extended Arts and crafts and plants sale market along Huey P. Long Ave.(8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) with a German Beer Garden at 5th and Huey P Long (10 a.m. – 3 p.m.) sponsored by the German-American Cultural Center.
