Tourism
The City of Gretna Tourism Office assists visitors to the City, arranges tour groups and helps coordinate special events. The Tourism Office is in the Heritage House Welcome Center at 1035 Huey P. Long Avenue. Welcome Center hours are Tuesday – Friday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

February 1 – Toast to Mardi Gras, choosing of Gretna’s King/Queen
February 2 – GREDI King Cake Social
February 3 – Parade the Huey – Drive thru/walk the city and enjoy the purple green and gold splendor. Wave to the King and Queen of Gretna’s Mardi Gras located along Huey P. Long Ave. in the neutral ground.
February 3-19 – Bubbles on Parade – Held every weekend leading up to Mardi Gras Day. Rent a clear bubble tent under the beautifully draped Oaks of purple, green and gold lights.
February 20 – GRELA presents Lundi Gras in Gretna at the Farmer’s Market pavilion. Free concert with food and beverage for purchase.

March 26 – Italian-Irish Parade rolls in downtown Gretna!
APRIL 2023
April 1 – Seersucker Soiree and “Shop the Huey” Easter Market– Artists and musicians along the streets of downtown Gretna. Holiday and craft market inside and out of the Gretna Cultural Center from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. with over 50 vendors! Discounted food and drink with purchase of a wristband.

May 13 – Maifest – Extended Arts and crafts and plants sale market along Huey P. Long Ave.(8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) with a German Beer Garden at 5th and Huey P Long (10 a.m. – 3 p.m.) sponsored by the German-American Cultural Center.

October 6-8 – GRETNA FEST 2023!!!
October Every Friday – Back to the River Fall Concert Series. Free concert at the Riverfront amphitheater for 6 p.m.

December 1 – 23 – Passport to Christmas promotion event. Get your Passport to Gretna for deals and discounts at participating businesses. Collect enough stamps to enter for a chance at a gift basket worth over $1000. Winner pulled during the Farmer’s Market on December 17.
