Due to Hurricane Zeta, City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Mayor’s Court has also been cancelled for Wednesday and will resume on Thursday, Oct. 29. Garbage pickup will resume on Thursday. Please secure outdoor items, such as garbage cans, decorations, and yard signs.

Adult/Senior Activities


The Department offers affordable Yoga instruction Monday and Wednesday evenings at 5:45 pm and Tuesday mornings at 9:00 am at the Mel Ott Multipurpose Center. The instructor, Mr. Peter Spera, is certified by the Yoga Alliance and previously taught yoga with Jefferson Parish. Classes are $8 and open to all levels of experience.

Gretna Senior and Wellness Center

In partnership with People’s Health and the Jefferson Council on Aging (JCOA), the City is pleased to offer senior activities and services at the Gretna Senior and Wellness Center. Visit their website at for a monthly calendar of activities and services provided. Residents are encouraged to contact the Center directly at 504.301.3743. The facility is located at 476 Franklin Street, Gretna, LA 70053. The City offers FREE transportation directly from your residence to/from the facility on the Gretna Trolley.
